Fisherman’s Beard is a versatile neck warmer. The design is inspired by an old-fashioned fisherman’s beard. Make it either with a rollneck or turtleneck collar. It is worked in k1, p1 rib and has twisted fringes at the front.
You can, of course, use other yarns. Make the pattern sample to ensure that your yarns are suitable for this pattern.
Twisting fringes is an art form that takes time to learn. The more you twist the loop, the tighter the fringe – but also the more difficult it is to handle Practise on the pattern sample piece until you can make fringes you like.
